Throwback Thursday: David Bowie, Big L, Naughty By Nature, The Beatles

throw it back with dimihub’s weekly throwback thursday. this week’s lineup: david bowie, big l, naughty by nature, and the beatles.

Throwback Thursday is our favorite weekly holiday at DimiHub, so we are going to spend our first one ever giving you four different songs today. Make sure you check out our Twitter page (@dimihub) and Facebook page (DimiHub) for more photos and videos! So let’s go down the list.

We had to give a shoutout to the late great David Bowie, who passed away this past week, on our first Throwback Thursday. We did it with his 1983 hit single “Let’s Dance”, which was the last Bowie single to top the charts in the U.S. This song is a nice way to take it back a few decades on Throwback Thursday.

“If you say run, I’ll run with you
If you say hide, we’ll hide
Because my love for you
Would break my heart in two
If you should fall
Into my arms
And tremble like a flower”

You will be missed, Mr. Bowie.

Next on the list is a rapper that left the world way, way, too soon. Lamont Coleman, better known as Big L, is often overshadowed because he was rapping in an era controlled by Biggie and Pac. Big L was killed at just age 24, and had a lyrical flow with words that came out naturally. Check out his underrated lyrical skills with the classic “’98 Freestyle”. Throwback Thursday is heating up!

“O.P.P.” is probably your first guess when you think Naughty By Nature and Throwback Thursday, and you’re right. The classic Hip-Hop song takes The Jackson 5’s song “ABC” and change it to something….well let’s just say something slightly dirtier than the alphabet. Enjoy this one.

To wrap up DimiHub’s Throwback Thursday, a shoutout to the legendary Beatles is in order. Ending the day with a little “Twist and Shout” never hurt anyone, and playing it back to back with “O.P.P” is always a good time too.

We hope our Throwback Thursday helped you bring back memories, or got you ready for the weekend. Let us know your favorite throwback!
