Review Of Kanye West’s New Track “No More Parties In L.A.”

Kanye west has just released his third track from his album Swish. Listen to “No More Parties In L.A.”

Kanye West disappointed the fans by not releasing any music on “G.O.O.D Friday” like his wife promised, but he more than made up for it by releasing the full version of his historic collaboration with Kendrick Lamar on the track “No More Parties In L.A.” on Monday. Check out the track here:

The song is absolutely worth the wait. The beat is vintage Kanye, even sampling himself in it. We expected a standout beat from Yeezy, but what makes this track more outstanding is the way Kanye spits. He took it back to the prime Kanye West days, and it sounds like those who asked for the old Yeezy are getting what they want. He even acknowledges by saying

“I know some fans who thought I wouldn’t rap like this again
But the writer’s block is over, emcees cancel your plans”

Add-in the the current god of rap, Kendrick Lamar, with a vintage Kanye production and rap, it’s bound to be great, and that’s exactly what hapened here. Kendrick’s best line came right at the  end of the first verse:

“And I want two of these, moving units through consumer streets
Then my shoe released, she was kicking in gratuity
And yeah G, I was all for it
She said K Lamar, you kind of dumb to be a poet
I’mma put you on game for the lames that don’t know they’re a rookie
Instagram is the best way to promote some pussy”

Rate: 8.7/10.0

The song is a great one, but it still feels like it isn’t on the same level of his previously released track “Real Friends”. The samples really carry the beat, but it’s the outstanding lyricism of two rap greats is really what transcends this song from average to very good. This quality of music Kanye has shown us to preview his upcoming album Swish has been incredible, and the hype for the project has been continually building. Kanye’s a smart business man, so I’m sure his best tracks are still yet to be heard.
