Khalifa Album Review, Best Song, Worst Song

Wiz Khalifa’s self-titled album Khalifa hit the stores last night. The 13 track album comes following his Twitter beef with rapper Kanye West, which has since been squashed. Taylor Gang fans will surely be quick to get to listen to Khalifa’s new album, which includes his previously released track Bake Sale, featuring Travis $cott. So today we will break down the album, give you the best song, the worst song, and whether or not it’s worth buying.

Khalifa includes features from Rico Love, Ty Dolla $ign, Chevy Woods, and more. The album has seem to been following Wiz Khalifa’s most recent themes of upbeat songs that center around the high life. The album falls short in many ways, with lyrics being seemingly repeated throughout the entire album. However, what differs Khalifa from an album like O.N.I.F.C is that Wiz scatters the familiar style of melodic tunes that made him big throughout the album here and there. The song “Lit” featuring Ty Dolla $ign is the perfect example of Wiz going back to his roots and giving us a track to sing along to at points. The album up and down isn’t spectacular, however it isn’t his worst. Thankfully, there are a lot of listenable songs on the album and that’s why we’re giving the album an above average DimiHub score of 6.8/10.0.

Best Song: “Bake Sale”      “City View” feat. Courtney Noelle

“Bake Sale” is by far the best track on the album, but since it was released early, we are going a different route. The song “City View” is vintage Khalifa and adding the sweet vocals of Courtney Noelle allows for a pleasurable listen that’ll put you on a rooftop in the city. “City View” seems to stand above the rest (besides “Bake Sale”) and for this reason we are calling it the best song on the album with a DimiHub score of 7.9/10.0

Worst Song: “Call Waiting”

Wiz Khalifa goes the entire track singing, which is usually not bad, expect in this  instance. This song is an easy pass and there’s not much else to say about it.

Should You Buy It?

Eh. This is the type of album to purchase just a select few songs off the project. “Lit”, “Bake Sale”, “City View”, among others are a great listen. If you are into Wiz Khalifa or I die hard softer rap fan, then this would be a good purchase. Listening through the album a few times before you make your decision.
